Comprehensive Fuel Cleanliness Study

The following information is a comprehensive fuel cleanliness study of our bulk storage fuel filtration systems over the past few years. All samples were taken from various tank nozzles and filtration systems around the United States.

Predictive Maintenance services is a leading fuel analysis lab and their maximum allowable ISO diesel fuel cleanliness is ISO 20/19/15 maximum or cleaner.

Conclusions:

• Only 2 of the 9 samples taken out of the fuel nozzles were cleaner than the maximum allowable ISO 20/19/15.
• 7 out of 9 samples taken out of the PFS Ultimate Fuel / Water Separator Filtration system greatly exceeded the maximum allowable ISO cleanliness specification. The samples were taken with only 20 to 50 gallons of fuel being filtered through the Ultimate filter housing. The more life on the filters the more efficient they will become so the fuel will only get cleaner and cleaner.

Hydraulic Fluid Analysis

The following information is a comprehensive list of hydraulic fluid analysis before and after results.

Most samples were taken after 200 hours of filtration and the customer changes filters every six months.

Conclusions:

After 200 hours of filtration with an Ultimate by-pass filtration systems installed the fluid is many times cleaner than brand new fluid. As long as the customer changes the PFS 1 micron depth-type filter element every six months the fluid will last for years and the customer will virtually eliminate failures to pump, motors, servo valves, proportional valves, and other hydraulic components due to water and solid particles.
